The classic way to see Amsterdam: an hour and a quarter on the water past the Golden Bend, the Skinny Bridge and the houseboats of the Prinsengracht, with commentary in English. Boats leave from the piers opposite Centraal Station every 20–30 minutes, so you can turn up without booking. Go late afternoon for the light, or after dark when the bridges are lit.
